Faculty Mentor Program Emergency Medicine Research Associates Program (FMP EMRAP)
The Faculty Mentor Program Emergency Medicine Research Associates Program (EMRAP) is a joint program through the Faculty Mentor Program (FMP) and the UC San Diego School of Medicine’s Department of Emergency Medicine. This program was created to expand research opportunities for students interested in careers in medicine or in clinical research. Students receive independent student credit (199) through the Department of Emergency Medicine.
- The program may not be taken for credit through the Department of Biological Sciences (BISP 199).
- We will be selecting a total of 5 students to participate in the FMP EMRAP for the academic year 2024-2025.
- Applicants should expect some degree of unpredictability when it comes to working in the ED due to various communicable illnesses that may be going around. Students in the ED should expect to work for 8 hours a week, but if that changes, the program will continue remotely, through remote patient screening and enrollments for appropriate studies, as well as project work.
***Students who are accepted into the program must be eligible to become a UC San Diego Health Volunteer and complete training by winter break. *
